It’s been 10 years since that night in Munich when, on the back of a unsuccessful Euro 2000, England demolished their great rivals Germany 5-1. Carsten Jancker opened the scoring but goals from Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard gave us the half time lead. In the second half, 2 more for Owen and Emile Heskey completed the rout. The great Franz Beckenbauer called it one of the darkest days in the national team’s history.
I will forever remember this.
